Members Making History

The profession continues to grow and add family members. At the June 5, 2010 swearing-in ceremony in Austin, new CPA Lauren Ingram was awarded her certificate by her father Jim (James D. Ingram IV) and grandfather Jim (James D. Ingram, III). At the same ceremony, Jim III, was also recognized for 50 years of licensure as a CPA in the state of Texas.

Lauren has a remarkable heritage to carry on. Most importantly to our Chapter, 35 years ago, her grandfather, James D. Ingram, III, flew to the Mid-Year Board meeting to plea and make a motion for the Houston chapter to let the CPAs in the Brazos Valley break off and form their own TSCPA chapter. He became the Chapter’s first president. In recognition of his service history, in 2005, Jim was awarded the TSCPA Meritorious Service to the Accounting Profession in Texas award.

Lauren’s father, Jim IV, has kept up the family tradition of service to fellow CPAs. He is currently serving in his 4th year as TSCPA Political Action Committee Chairman and served as the Chapter president in 1996-97.

Lauren works with PricewaterhouseCoopers CPA firm in Houston.  Congratulations, Lauren!
